Zildjian PHILLY JOE JONES K CONSTANTINOPLE 20” Ride 2246 g IMMACULATE! Semi-Dry Dark & LOW!
THE HANDIWORK IS GORGEOUS!! Look at that 6” HUGE BELL that looks like it was borrowed from an Istanbul K. No markings on the front give it a perfect Vintage Zildjian look.
And at an auspicious 2246 grams, this beauty delivers a terrific stick attack that remains very warm and dark and has a lower pitch than most
“20” PHILLY JOE JONES” written under the bell.
Zildjian describes this unique cymbal as:
“A modern take on the classic ride cymbal used by the legendary jazz drummer Philly Joe Jones. This has a traditional finish, great stick articulation, a wide bell, and a warm sound.”
This 20” K Constantinople Philly Joe Jones Ride plays like a fantastic sounding Medium Thin DARK K Constantinople with a bit more presence - compliments of that WIDE BELL.
As promised, strong stick articulation. The tone on this one is dark - one of the darkest I’ve heard - fairly smooth, but with all that K Cons hammering there’s a lively complexity that floats around the cymbal.
It projects quite well without being overbearing.
And of course that wide, OLD SCHOOL, 6” bell is solid enough for “the latin thing” and even louder music.
Exceptionally BALANCED. Medium-low to Low pitch, responsive, glowing with a light complexity underneath.
A felicitous tribute to one of the greatest drummers of the last 100 years!
Amazing condition! No issues! A gorgeous collectible Zildjian!
