Here’s an absolutely beautiful sounding Vintage 30 Year Old Made In Japan TAMA Artwood that is incredibly crisp and articulate but also has a great FATness to it! And it’s from Tama’s halcyon Made In Japan days - the GREAT stuff that put them on the map.  

Technically this Tama is known as the AW113SB  - what a sexy moniker!!  

Here is the description according to the original Tama catalog:

“Crafted from very select birch that Tama has carefully stored and aged for 12 years.  This long drying and aging process results in a stable, mature shell with a very low moisture content that makes the AW113SB a snare drum with an unparalleled bright and resonant sound.”

It’s true.  All of it!
