SUPER EARLY Dark Sabian HH DUO Ride 20” 2032 g Amazing Semi-Dry Dark Crash Ride
The very first HH DUO RIDE?
Pretty damn close! Most likely from the Cretaceous period. So early they hadn’t even dubbed it “DUO!” It’s simply a “Ride.” This Hybrid style HH 20” has a particular SHIMMER to it, which is not often found on a cymbal that is also fairly DRY!
Sabian made this beautiful HH years before Zildjian ever offered a Hybrid Series, and that’s what I love about Sabian, they are fond of experimenting. The inside 12s” are raw and unlathed with heavy ball-peen HH handhammering, while the outer 8s” are fully lathed and permit the cymbal to open up when crashed upon.
Very low profile gives this Duo an ultra-dark low pitched tone while the half-raw section provides terrific stick definition.
Solid bell, 2032 grams, plays like a beautiful dark Medium Thin Crash or Thin Dark Dry Ride.
Crashes fantastically! Dark but also gets out of the way quickly. It could live its whole life as a big Semi-Dry Crash!
Fantastic for low to loud settings. One of the darker and lower pitched cymbals Sabian ever made. Not in the catalog.
One of the first DUOS. And a great sounding one at that.
