Famously RAW, unlathed, DARK Paiste RUDE THIN CRASH in the harder to find 19” size.

As many of you know, Paiste created the RUDE series in 1980/81 to quench the thirst of rock and punk players (although there were a few jazz enthusiasts who used them too.) The unlathed and heavily hammered Rudes offered an unprecedented explosive cut and sustain that held up both sonically and structurally in loud volume settings. The Rude series went through many logo changes but always kept its raw bell, unlathed surface, and talent for explosive attack and maximum projection.

When I first saw that Paiste offered a Rude Thin Crash, I thought "What an oxymoron!" But damnit, the whole series sounds terrific. I'm quite impressed.

Weighing in at lovely 1796 grams this RUDE plays like a Medium Thin Dark FULL Crash. That is correct, I said "Medium Thin" and "Rude" in the same sentence. It has a dark tone that STILL projects extremely well. Especially since this is the BIG 19”. The wash is lush and full.

And being the THIN CRASH this Rude does NOT CLANK its way through life like many heavy cymbals do-it is a bit more responsive than your garden variety Rude Crash Ride. It's a great BIG Dark Crash cymbal that erects a wall of white noise a la Foo Fighters when you ride on it.

Typical light use/dent in bell (that so many of these Paistes have.) And you need not guess and pay $350.  Very far from it!
