Here’s an interesting fairly DRY PROTOTYPE Sabian that has fantastic definition and control.
Sounds like a Sabian reason of the famous Zildjian DEEP RIDE but it’s in a controlled 18” size.
As you can see this one-off does not have a designation and never did - it ONLY has the Sabian stamp and logo.
It’s a finely lathed golden Traditional Finish 18” with a fairly low profile bell that gives it terrific control and a dark, low pitch.
Surprisingly dry for a fully lathed, Traditional Finish 18”.
Weighing in at healthy 1818 grams this 18” Sabian Prototype plays like a controlled Dark Heavy Ride. It has a very strong attack that cuts quite well and then the wash remains focused and very chime-like.
Traditional Finish gives it a warmth and light glow.
