This is a fascinating and beautiful sounding dark bendibly thin 22”. The factory engraved stamp says “SONOR TYRKO MADE IN GERMANY” and my Spidey sense tells me this is made by PAISTE. Sonor just had their own branding - very cool to match this up with a Sonor kit. I am sure that is how it originally entered the world. Paiste made it for Sonor to sell with their kits back in the day.
It LOOKS like a pre-cursor to the 602. And it has that lush smoothness too! But it plays thinner, warmer and much more soft and supple than a 602 or other Vintage Paiste.
Whopping 5.5” bell gives it very much a Suspended Crash or 22” Crash profile. And it actually SOUNDS like a crash too.
2428 grams gives it a Thin to Medium Thin Crash Ride weight and that’s exactly how it plays. Handles mallet rolls beautifully. Still makes a terrific semi-dry 22” Ride. The stick attack is fairly pronounced for a thinner Paiste and of course that bell is magnificent.
Has all the hallmarks of a Vintage Paiste 602 22” but with a sifter, more supple feel. Deep brown/olive patina.
Has a much darker more organic vintage tone than your standard 602. Much more vibe - lower and trance-like.
Sounds amazing from low to loud settings.
No issues. Typical wear on a 50 or 60 year old big cymbal.

Unique, head turning Vintage 22” with a cool provenance.
