- Absolutely GLORIOUS 22” right here!
- To have a cymbal Series named after "New Orleans" is quite a bold statement. But, I have to give it to Bosphorus. This 22" 2380 gram beauty is indeed a fantastic tribute to the city's illustrious musical history.
- As you can see, this hand-hammered gem is partially lathed with alternating gold and brown ribbons - similar to an Istanbul Agop Special Edition Ride, that's the vibe, but this one has more of a papery SHIMMER to it.
- What I love about this particular 22" is that its defining characteristics are LIGHT, AIRY, and yet also CONTROLLED with a subtle clean tone for such a Hand Hammered cymbal.
- This particular one has a bit more of a light airiness to it - especially for the weight.
- And that is the brilliance of this particular Bosphorus. Light and airy with an organic, subtle complexity, but overall clean sounding.
- Smaller rounded over bell gives it a more mellow and slightly focused vibe while the hand-hammering and partial lathing keeps it organic and a bit complex.
- At 2380 grams it swims right between Thin and Medium Thin - Light and complex enough to sound like a Thin Ride but with enough tension and weight to yield a strong stick definition.
- IMMACULATE CONDITION. One of the nicest in this Series I've heard. Have a listen yourself.
